Lack of Doctors Caused Problems in Service Delivery
Chautara Hospital, which is the largest hospital in the district, is facing service delivery issues due to the absence of doctors as per the schedule.
Chautara Hospital, situated in the central area, has a total of 12 doctors assigned for duties, including 3 permanent doctors and 7 temporary doctors. Presently, there are only 2 permanent doctors and 5 temporary doctors on duty. As per the information provided by the head of Chautara Hospital, Dr. Tribhuvan Jha, there is a problem with the service delivery due to the absence of five doctors. When they encounter outbreaks of various diseases at different times, the lack of doctors hinders the delivery of services.
According to Chudamani Puri, the Information Officer of Chautara Hospital, there are vacancies in the hospital as five people resigned. He stated that the Bagmati state government should advertise and fill these vacancies, but it has been a considerable amount of time, and no advertisement has been made yet.
Tank Bahadur Karki, the Chairperson of the Chautara Hospital Management Committee, stated that government-approved 15 beds for this hospital but it is currently operating with 37 beds due to the increased number of patients.
According to the Chairperson Karki, the hospital has a daily arrival of up to 150 patients seeking medical services. He has repeatedly requested the Health Minister of Bagmati Province government to send a doctor after their meetings, but the process is still ongoing.
According to Information Officer Chudamani Puri, there is a problem at the hospital as there are no specialized doctors for pediatric and gynecological issues, which are extremely essential.
