Juvenile Injured While Trying to Escape Reform Home
A 17-year-old juvenile was injured when he tried to escape by jumping from the third floor of the Jayendu Children’s Reform Home on April 23, Duduwa Rural Municipality-6, Aasamanpur. He explained that he attempted to escape because of the fear of being beaten by the reformer at the reform home for minor mistakes every day.
Bimala Kaucha Magar, Chief of the Reform Home stated that there are no issues regarding education, sports, and food at the Jayendu Children’s Reform Home. She informed INSEC that the Juvenile tried to escape by jumping from three floors but got injured and couldn’t get away. She added that he had tried to escape before but was caught. The health examination of the victim is being done at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj.
The boy was brought to the reform home in a stealing case. A complaint against the boy was filed at the district police office on November 21 alleging that he stole on November 16, 2023. The juvenile was kept at the District Police Office for two days and subsequently sent to the Jayendu Child Reform Home.
