Journo Intimidated For Publishing News on Taking Bribe
Journalists of the district have objected on intimidation by acting chief district officer of Tanahu, Shisir Paudel, to journo SB Nepali,40 of Byas Municipality-1 on charge of writing news against District Administration Office.
While releasing a press statement on August 21, various media related organisation of the district have condemned the action of acting CDO Paudel.
The acting CDO had intimidated journo Nepali over the news published in Lokwani Daily on heading “ Rs 2000 bribe to find passport number”. Nepal Press Union, Press Center and Nepal Press Society have jointly released a press statement condemning the intimidation by acting CDO Paudel and further appealed to be more serious on journalist’s security.
The press release also requested to respect right to information.
