Journalist Threatened for Publishing News
The editor of Manaslu.com and Provincial Member of Federation of Nepali Journalists, Gandaki, Rajendra Neupane, 37, of Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-1, Bakrang, has been given a death threat by Rachan Pariyar, 25, of Satipipal, Gorkha Municipality-5, for publishing news.
Journalist Neupane had written news on the incident of mistreatment on a doctor of Gorkha Hospital by an unknown group on December 5.
The news was about the incident at Gorkha Hospital and the mistreatment upon health workers.
It is alleged that Pariyar called Neupane and threatened him through Facebook messenger. A statement issued by the Gorkha branch of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has demanded immediate arrest and legal action against those who were involved in spreading terror in the society.
Inspector Dharma Adhikari told INSEC representatives that FNCCI President Kishore Jung Thapa had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, Gorkha on December 7 demanding action against Pariyar.
