Journalist Beaten On Charge of Writing News
Kantipur News representative Dev narayan Shah,35 of Dhangadhi VDC-1 of Saptari District was beaten by Birendra Yadav,34 of Phulkahakatti-5 of Lahan on August 17 on charge of writing a news.
The news regarding irregularities on construction of Animal Service Center building at Bhagwanpur was published in Kantipur news on August 17. The victim said that he was beaten by Yadav, who is also member of FNJ Siraha, on charge of publishing news.
The victim had lodged a complaint at Area Police Office on August 17 against the accused. Police have started to search the accused according to the DSP Raj Kumar KC of Area Police Office.
The Press chautari Siraha, Press Union and Human Rights Protection Center through a press release on August 17 has demanded to dismiss his membership and investigation on the incident.
