Journalist Appeals Administration for Peace and Security
Two journalists from Sunsari have appealed to the District Administration Office for peace and security on May 11, 2021, after receiving a threat for their news titled ‘Activities against Development’.
Dipendra Kumar Yadav, 28, of Bhokraha Narsingh Rural Municipality-7 and journalist of Pradeshpana online and Bibek Mehta, 24, of Devangunj Rural Municipality-6 and journalist of Nagarikabhiyan.com asked for security from the District Administration Office after they received a death threat from 9802094393 for their news.
The news was published in both the online portal on May 10, 2021.
According to them, Jamaluddin Mansuri, 36, of Bhokraha Narsingh Rural Municipality -6 had threatened to kill them after they published news about the activities he has been doing.
Chief District Officer Dhakal said that the District Police Office has been instructed to conduct the necessary investigation and take action as no citizen or journalist should be insecure in a democracy.
The accused Jamaluddin Mansur has denied the allegation.
