Jeep Carrying Election Material Accident in Jumla; Eight Injured
A Jeep with number plate 1 Cha 2188, transporting election materials to a polling station in Jumla met with an accident on November 17. Eight people were injured.
According to Inspector Dharmaraj Joshi, the District Police Office, Jumla, the accident occurred when the jeep was on its way to Tamati polling station in Rawatwada, Tila Rural Municipality-4. One polling officer, one assistant polling officer, three police officers, two other employees, and one office assistant were injured.
The injured personnel includes; Angraj Giri, Office Assistant, Chandannath Municipality-10; Hariprasad Devkota, Polling Officer; Adi Prasad Neupane, Assistant Polling Officer, Tatopani Rural Municipality-4; Policemen Shuraj Chand Salyan, and Sitaram Damai of Dhading; Rajendra Bishta of Kalikot, Asha Chaulagai Tatopani Rural Municipality-5 and Suresh Sarki of rural municipality-4.
Angraj, Adi Prasad, and Suraj Chand are in critical condition. Chief District Officer Mukesh Kumar Keshari said that the injured are treated at the Karnali Institute of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Jumla. He said that new staff had been assigned to the school at the location of the polling place.
