The 28th General Assembly of the Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) was held in Kathmandu on October 1, where a five-point declaration addressing current issues was issued. The General Assembly expressed grief over the human and material damage caused in various parts of the country due to the floods and landslides following the incessant rains on September 27, 28, and 29. It requests the Government of Nepal to take proactive measures in rescuing and rehabilitating citizens affected by disasters and to implement necessary arrangements for future disaster preparedness. The assembly also demands developing a strategy to address the damage caused by climate change and environmental issues.

Likewise, the General Assembly expects the issue of transitional justice, which has been stalled for 18 years, to progress following the approval of the Commission for Investigation, Truth, and Reconciliation (Third Amendment) Bill by the House of Representatives on August 14, 2024, the National Assembly on August 22, and the President on August 29.

The general assembly has approved the annual progress report presented by INSEC General Secretary Dr. Raghunath Adhikari and the financial report presented by Treasurer Geeta Baral, as informed by Chairperson Dr. Kundan Aryal.
