INSEC Takes Initiative to Rescue a Child in Solukhumbu

According to DSP Kabit Katwal of the District Police Office, Solukhumbu, the 17-year-old boy from Sotang Rural Municipality-5 was rescued after the initiative of INSEC Solukhumbu.

“The boy was victimized by his father for a long time has been rescued by a team of area police office Sotang on May 28 in the initiation of INSEC” said DSP Kabit Katawal of the District Police Office, Solukhumbu. Now the boy is staying in his uncle’s house with the family consent.

INSEC received the complaint via an email from the victim’s mother on May 28 in which she mentioned that the boy was beaten several times by his father after consuming alcohol. She further complained that the 38-year-old father’s beating had fractured the victim’s hand.

The victim’s mother pleaded for the life of her son.

After receiving the email, a complaint was lodged at the District Police Office, Solukhumbu on the same day and the child was rescued in the presence of the Deputy Chairperson of the Rural Municipality and Chairperson of the ward. He was moved to his uncle’s house on May 28, 2021.

DSP Kabit Katawal of the District Police Office Solukhumbu said that the victim will be taken to a safe house after the pandemic is under control.

According to the police, the accused was arrested by the Area Police Office, Sotang on the basis of a complaint lodged by INSEC District Representative.
