INSEC Supports for Victims in Legal Proceedings
The Karnali Pradesh Office in Surkhet has offered financial aid to 44-year-old Durgadevi Bastola, who lives in Ward No. 7 of Birendranagar Municipality. On April 4, 2024, she received support to help with her legal matters.
Durgadevi, a 46-year-old woman, was forced out of her home by her husband, Kailash Kumar Jaisi, on March 25, 2024. In response, she filed a case in the District Court for property and financial support, including food expenses. However, she encountered financial difficulties while dealing with the legal process and sought assistance from INSEC on March 26, 2024. She also mentioned her struggles with other legal procedures and financial constraints.
In response to her request, Karnali Pradesh Coordinator Narayan Suvedi confirmed that immediate financial assistance of eight thousand rupees was granted. This decision was made during a meeting on March 22. The assistance was intended to cover application fees, photocopying, and travel expenses related to her legal proceedings.
