INSEC representative Investigated Incidents Of Assault On Student By Teacher

INSEC representative Durga Pariyar monitored the incident of Amrit Shah, a teacher beating his 11-year-old student of Bishnupur Rural Municipality-3 on October 4.

The victim reported that he was physically assaulted by Amrit Shah, a 23-year-old teacher at Sharada Pathshala in Mirchaiya Municipality-5, who used a bamboo stick, citing the reason that the victim had disobeyed the teacher.

Ranju Yadav, the victim’s mother, said that they  came to know about the incident only on October 2. When they went to school, they found out that the victim had deep wounds on his hands and feet, so they brought him to Bishnu Clinic in Mirchaiya for treatment and went back home.

The school administration, the victim’s family, and the teachers are currently discussing not collecting one year’s school fees from the victim, as well as requesting the victim’s family not take any action against the teacher involved.

Sunita Shah, principal of Sharda Pathshala, said that the incident was tragic and was an accident.She stated that they have issued an apology to the parents regarding the incident and assured them that such incident will not be repeated in the future.

District Police Office Mirchaiya DSP Jitendra Basnet said that although they were informed about the incident, the action could not be proceeded as no complaint was filed.
