INSEC Provides Financial Support To Rape Victim

INSEC has provided financial support to a 32-year-old rape victim with a disability on December 13, 2020.

The victim had given birth on December 12. INSEC District Representative Jayanarayan Pun provided financial assistance for the care and nutritious food for the baby after the victim became pregnant due to rape and had problems due to poor financial condition.

The support was provided after the coordination and recommendation of nursing inspector Radha Poudel working at the Institutional Family Planning Clinic Ghorahi under Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan and ward police office, Ghorahi. The Human rights Support Fund supported by the DCA project in INSEC provided Rs. 10,000 to the victim.

The victim was raped by 35-year-old Pahal Oli on January 16, 2020, and was living alone after receiving threats from the accused. The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office on October 14, 2020. Her financial condition was weak and she was neglected by her relatives.

The accused is absconding, said Inspector Dinesh Rimal of Ward Police Office, Ghorahi.

The victim was examined at Buddha Hospital, Ghorahi on October 14, 2020.
