INSEC Provides Financial Support to the Family of Gita Majhi
Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) has provided financial assistance to the family of Gita Majhi, 35, who died after torture and brutal beating by her husband.
INSEC provided financial support of NPR 15,000 to the family of the victim.
INSEC Chitwan District Representative Dipendra Adhikari handed over the amount to the daughter of the deceased on May 30.
INSEC has been providing assistance to the families of the victims of violence to support them in the process of getting justice and legal consultation which they are unable to afford due to crucial financial conditions.
Geeta’s daughter lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, Chitwan on May 31 alleging that her mother died while undergoing treatment for her injuries which was the result of Gita’s husband’s beating and sexual violence.
According to DSP Narahari Adhikari, the victim’s husband Ram Chandra Majhi, 40, was arrested by the police on the night of May 26 and is being kept in the custody of the District Police Office.
According to Gopal Poudel, Information Officer at Bharatpur Hospital, the operation was carried out on May 30 after her husband Ram Chandra wounded her genitals.
