INSEC Provides Financial Assistance to the Victim of Domestic Violence
Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) has provided financial assistance to a 17-year-old victim of domestic violence.
The Human Rights Help Desk decided to support the victim on December 21, 2021, and Gita Koirala, a member of the Help Desk handed over the amount of NPR 5,000 to the victim on December 30.
According to the victim, her husband had been beating and torturing her under various excuses and on October 27, 2021, he had brutally beaten and injured her after which the victim had filed a case for partition of property, coverage of food expenses and divorce.
The victim had appealed to the help desk on December 10 expecting help to go through the judicial process due to fragile financial conditions.
INSEC Coordinator Narayan Subedi said that financial assistance was provided to the victim for the expenses incurred during the judicial process.
The victim was treated at Karnali Provincial Hospital on October 28.
