INSEC Provided Financial Assistance to Rape Victim
INSEC provided financial assistance to facilitate legal and medical treatment for a 21-month-old rape victim. The financial assistance of Rs 10,000 was handed over by Bhabin Karki, the Representative of INSEC Koshi Province Office, Biratnagar. This initiative was taken after the aggrieved party appealed to the INSEC Representative for help because of their poor financial situation for medical treatment.
The health examination of the victim is being carried out at the District Hospital, Sankhuwasabha. Dr. Pranav Jairu of the District Hospital stated that the victim was admitted on 23 June. Additionally, she sustained injuries and bruises on her body.
With the assistance of INSEC, the aggrieved party filed a complaint against the 14-year-old Juvenile of Makalu Rural Municipality at the District Police Office on 23 June alleging that the boy had raped the victim on 19 June. The juvenile was subsequently arrested on the same day the complaint was filed and further proceedings are underway.
