INSEC Initiated Rally Against Gender-based Violence in Sindhupalchowk
A rally was organized in the district headquarters, Chautara, on December 3, marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities as part of the 16-day campaign against gender-based violence. The event was held on December 3 at the initiative of Chautara Sangam Chowk Gadi Municipality, coordinated by INSEC, and in collaboration with other active social organizations in the district. The program was completed with the participation of government and non-governmental office chiefs and representatives, legal practitioners, journalists, political party representatives, elected officials, persons with disabilities, and their families.
The rally took place around the Chautara Bazaar in the district headquarters and concluded with an assembly at the premises of Chautara Sangachowkgadi Municipality. Mayor Krishna Prasad Sapkota of Chautara Sangachowkgadi Municipality stated that such awareness programs could help reduce gender-based violence. INSEC’s district representative coordinated a stakeholders’ meeting on 29 November in Chautara, where participants decided to conduct the program on 3 December in a grand manner.
