INSEC Assists Domestic Violence Victim in Her Journey to Justice
Kribhuti Dubedi, 28, of Khoriya in Yashodhara Rural Municipality-8 has filed a case against her husband Ramdev Upadhyaya, 35, of Krishnanagar Municipality-1 Dumai in the District Court on October 25, 2021, with the assistance of INSEC.
She had urged INSEC Kapilbastu to help her register a case against her husband on September 26, alleging that her husband had repeatedly abused her, beaten her, not allowed her to eat and on August 2, he had verbally abused and beaten her.
Based on the victim’s request, INSEC’s District Representative had coordinated with the stakeholders and filed a case of domestic violence, paying maintenance cost (separation of bed and board) and property partition.
The victim’s father Om Prakash Dubedi said that the case was registered directly in the court instead of the District Police Office in the hope of justice as the District Police Office would have reconciled the issue.
