Inmate’s death during Treatment
30-year-old Bimal Thapa of Dudhauli Municipality-10, Lakhima, who was serving sentence in Sindhuli Jail, died on November 16 during treatment.
As per Matrika Prasad Pahadi, the Chief of Sindhuli Jail Office, on the evening of November 15, after Tihar celebrations and engaging in Deusi activities within the prison premises, the inmate fell asleep after eating and was found unconscious at 3 am on November 16. Additionally, he was immediately taken to District Hospital Sindhuli for treatment.
However, he lost his life on the same day during treatment. The body has been kept at the same hospital for post-mortem.
Bimal Thapa was arrested on September 8, 2023 in the case of vehicular killing. The Sindhuli District Court had ordered Thapa to be sent to jail on October 4.
DSP Chiranjibi Dahal of the District Police Office informed INSEC that the cause of Thapa’s death is being investigated.
