Husband held on charge of compelling wife for suicide

The District Court of Makwanpur has ordered to arrest 45 years old husband Raju Thing of Hetauda Sub-metropolis-3 on charge of compelling his wife Sonu Thing for suicide.

A single bench of District Court judge Khadananda Tiwari on June 27 had ordered to arrest the accused.

The accused had beaten the victim in many occasions and was tortured compelling her for suicide. A complaint against him was lodged at judicial committee of the sub-metropolis three months ago for torture inflicted.

The complaint had also stated that she was willing to suicide due to the physical and metal torture inflicted by the accused according to the coordinator Meena Lama of the judicial committee.

With in the period of one month after lodging the complaint at judicial committee, the victim committed suicide.

After the incident, the victim’s brother Lal Bahadur Blon had lodged complaint against the accused stating that his daughter was compelled for the suicide after she could not tolerate the torture inflicted by the husband.

The accused was arrested by the police on June 2 based on a complaint lodged on June 1. The postmortem of the body was conducted at District Hospital of Hetauda on May 31.

The accused will be sentenced for five years along with Rs 50,000 penalty if found guilty on motivating for suicide.
