Human Trafficking Suspect Arrested from Kuwait
Police arrested 57-year-old Dilip Raut from Janaknandini Rural Municipality-4, Dhanusha district, through Interpol on the charge of trafficking a 24-year-old woman by allegedly transporting her from the UAE to Kuwait on a visit visa.
SP Bhavesh Rimal of the Anti Human Trafficking Bureau informed that Dilip Raut was repatriated to Nepal on November 5, 2024, for prosecution after being arrested in Kuwait in coordination with NCB Kuwait. Raut faces charges of labor and sexual exploitation of the victim. Additionally, Rimal stated that a Red Corner Notice was issued against Dilip Raut by the Interpol General Secretariat on October 4, 2024, at the request of the Interpol Branch of the Crime Investigation Department at Nepal Police Headquarters. Raut was wanted internationally for his involvement in a human trafficking and smuggling case and had been evading arrest.
