Hearing of Tikapur incident postponed: Accused are remanded from three years

  August 10, 2018 By: INSEC

The hearing of Tikapur incident, three years ago, has been postponed for the first time on August 9.

The locals of Tikapur are not happy with this. Local Tika Ram Chaidhary of Tikapur Municipality-9 said that it is sad that the case has not been decided even after almost three years. He added that guilty must be charged and innocent must be given a clean chit.  He is suspicious that there might be some conspiracy behind the postponement of this hearing.

The District Court however is claiming that the hearing could not be done on time due to the health reason of judge Parashuram Bhattarai.

From the defendant side , advocate Gajendra KC said that the case can be decided soon if hearing is continuous. At least 26 people including MP Resham Chaudhary are remanded in custody on charge of their involvement in the incident. They are charged of murder, attempted murder and looting according to District COurt of Kailali.
