Health Worker Beaten by Principal in Humla

Kali Bahadur Budha, 50, Health Coordinator of Chankheli Rural Municipality and resident of Chankheli Rural Municipality-3 was beaten up by Amrit Rokaya, Principal of Gauri Shankar Primary School of Changkheli Rural Municipality -4.

According to the victim, Amrit had beaten him on June 4, 2021, for not visiting COVID patients regularly.

Budha lodged a complaint at the office of Chankheli Rural Municipality and Police Post Melchham after he was beaten in his office by the accused.

Prem Bahadur Singh, Head of the Health Service Office, Humla, said that the incident took place after Rokaya had spread spirit on Budha’s body, warning to set him on fire but couldn’t do it because there were other people present nearby.

DSP Heramba Sharma of the District Police Office said that a team of police had gone to the spot to investigate the incident.

Similarly, the Chairperson of Changkheli rural municipality Dhan Lal Chaulagai said that the municipality would also discuss further the incident. According to him, Budha, who sustained minor injuries due to the beating, did not have to undergo treatment.

Chief District Officer Ganesh Acharya has said that action will be taken if the accused is found guilty in the investigation.
