Four Voting Stations Highly Sensitive in Humla

The District Security Committee has analyzed that four voting centers in Humla are highly sensitive from security perspective for the upcoming by-election on December 1. Inspector Saroj Kadel stated that out of the total 13 voting centers, four have been categorized as highly sensitive. Inspector Kadel stated that three voting centers have been classified as sensitive and six as normal. He mentioned that the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police will be deployed to ensure the election is conducted fairly and securely. He further informed that preparations have been completed to arrange security measures before, during, and after the election based on security sensitivity.

According to the information, security personnel have been mobilized at various voting centers as follows: 16 personnel at Debal Primary School Tumcha, Sarkegad Rural Municipality-1, 19 personnel across two voting sites at Saraswati Secondary School Jaira, 14 personnel at Laligurans Secondary School, Lipne in Ward No. 2, 12 personnel at Devkota Basic School in Ward No. 3, 16 personnel at Himjyoti Secondary School Sarkegad-4, 12 personnel at Dhumchuli Basic School, Kallas in Ward No. 5, 16 personnel at Bhawani Basic School, Gothi, 12 personnel each at Swoyambhu Basic School Barai and Ishwar Basic School Chhyagi in Ward No. 6, 16 personnel at Kot Secondary School, Rodikot in Ward No. 7, 14 personnel each at Anshuverma Basic School, Rahadev and Nilkantha Community Primary School Church in Ward No. 8. Chief Election Officer Shambhu Prasad Baral stated that 268 police personnel have been mobilized for the by-election. Additionally, 73 staff members have been assigned across 13 voting centers at 12 sites to ensure the election is conducted smoothly and without disputes.

The by-election is being held for the position of Vice Chairperson in Sarkegad Rural Municipality, Humla. A total of six candidates have registered their nominations for the election. According to Election Officer Bhim Rokaya from the District Election Office, there are 6,810 registered voters.
