Four Arrested for Beating Journalists in Pokhara
Journalists covering the protest by transport entrepreneurs at Prithivi Chowk, Pokhara were subjected to beating on 28 July. Reporters Bina Thapa Magar and Suraj Thapa Magar were among those attacked during the incident.
According to SP Mohan Thapa of the District Police Office Kaski, Surya Bahadur Nepali, Buddhi Bahadur Bayalkoti, Prashan Gurung, and Santosh Basnet were arrested on 28 July in connection with the assault on the journalists. SP Thapa added that the search for additional suspects is ongoing and that those involved will face charges under indecent behavior.
A formal complaint has been filed by the journalists regarding the incident.
