Former Chief Justices urge to roll back impeachment motion Former Chief Justices have urged the political parties to immediately withdraw the impeachment motion registered against Chief Justice Sushila Karki and create an environment for the judiciary to discharge its responsibilities with dignity according to the RSS source.

Issuing a joint statement on Monday, former Chief Justices Kalyan Shrestha, Ram Prasad Shrestha, Anup Raj Sharma and Min Bahadur Rayamajhi urged the parties concerned to withdraw the proposal to safeguard democratic norms and values and propel institutional development of independent and robust judiciary.
The state organs should not be engaged in unnecessary competition rather embrace the feeling of mutual cooperation in keeping with the wider welfare of the Nepali people within the framework of rule of law and democratic protection, reads the statement.
“Democracy would be weak if judiciary remains helpless in its functions of protecting rights and welfare of the people. Such types of activities surfaced at political level would definitely disrupt the environment for judiciary to dispense justice in a free and fair manner”, the statement added.
