Five Years in Child Reform Home to a Child Delinquent

District Court rendered a verdict imposing five months in child reform home to a 14 year, eight months and 24 days old child on 2 March in the charge of committing gang rape of a 10-yeear-oldd girl.

Bench officer Kumar Subedi informed that the bench of Judge Hemanta Rawal rendered this verdict imposing five years in child reform home, NPR 50,000 compensation and ordered the delinquent to deposit NPR. 1,200 in the victims relief fund.

Mother of the victim had filed a complaint at the area police office on 15 May 2019 alleging that the accused including three others gang raped the victim at the jungle nearby bamboo field of Bode Basai Municipality-8 on 14 May. Case was lodged against the accused at the District Court on 4 June 2019.

Medical examination of the victim was conducted at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj on 15 May 2019. Accused was arrested from the home the same day.

Accused was kept in the child reform home for further investigation on 6 June 2019 and was released based on the March 2020’s order of the court owing to COVID-19 pandemic. Other two accused haven’t been arrested yet.
