First Memorial Day Held in Memory of Kunwar who lost his life during agitation against delimitation
A tribute assembly was held in memory of Hari Bahadur Kunwar, 25 of Sarmigaun, Tamti VDC-1 who lost his life during an agitation against including Karnali zone in Far-western region in federal structure. He was injured in a bullet fire during an agitation in 2015, August 16 and later died in a hospital on August 22 while demanding Karnali as an independent state with special rights. Hari Bahadur was declared martyr by Nepal Government.
Along with Hari Bahadur, about 12 protestors were injured and 12 government offices were vandalised.
Santosh Budathapa of Chandanath Municipality-3 who was injured during an agitation was provided Rs 66,854 as compensation by Nepal government. Similarly, Pabitra Bohara of Dilli Chaur VDC-1 had received Rs 40867 as compensation. The government had provided one million to the victim family of martyr Kunwar.
