Essential medicine crunch in Doti

There has been a shortages in essential medicine in health posts of Doti district due to the negligence by District Health Office.

The shortages was due to the District Health Office being chief less from a long time, lack of coordination in medicine sent from the center and not being able to transport medicine by District Health Office. The patients are facing difficulties after the shortage in medicine in health posts.

Incharge Prem Kathayat of Mudhgaun Health post said that there have been lack of essential medicine for Gastric, post-partum injection since one year. He added that iron capsule, immunization medicine and Citamol are in shortages since three months. The District Health Office said that regional medical store of Dhangadhi  has not sent medicine to Doti since seven months.

Tej Khadka, helth post incharge at Silgadhi Municipality-11, Tikhra accused former office chief Rita Bhandary of ot being able to manage medicine.

The health organizations of the district do not have even a Citamol.
