Election of The House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly 2022- Commission Instructs to Resume Vote Counting

The Election Commission has instructed to resume the counting of votes in Udaypur-1, which was halted during the counting of votes for the members of the House of Representatives and the members of the Provincial Assembly.

The vote counting was stopped from November 27 after 100 ballot papers of Udaypur 1 (B) Provincial assembly were found in 10 ballot boxes. According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, instructions have been given to proceed with the counting of votes based on the agreement of the Commission.

In a circular sent to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer informed that the Commission has instructed to proceed with the counting of votes based on the agreement reached before the counting of votes.

After 63,080 votes were counted, when 10 ballot boxes were opened for further counting, when they found ballot boxes of the provincial assembly, the parties demanded to stop the counting.

A total of 76,756 votes have been cast, 63,080 votes have been counted in Udaypur-1. After counting, Dr. Narayan Khadka of Congress has taken the lead by 1,825 votes.

Khadka has got 27,484 votes. CPN-UML’s Manjukumari Chaudhary has brought 25,659, according to the election officer’s office.
