Elderly woman intimidated in an allegation of being witch
A single elderly woman of 67 years old was beaten and injured by a army man and three other Shaman (witchdoctor) in an allegation of being witch.
The victim’s party accused that she was beaten by Nepal army man Dhan Bahadur Thapa, 35, Harka Bahadur Pulami, 45, Khol Bahadur Pulami, 63 and 55 years old Tham Bahadur Magar, 55 on the night of November 14 on charge of being witch.
Police have arrested four people on charge of inflicting mental and physical torture on woman.
They are arrested for the investigation according to DSP Shyam Kumar Mahato of District Police Office.
The injured woman is receiving treatment at District Hospital of Dhading and further referred to Star Hospital in Kathmandu.
The accused will be sentenced for up to five years along with Rs 50,000 compensation if found guilty.
