Eight injured in a clash at Jaleshwor Prison

At least eight inmates and detainees were injured in a clash at Jaleshwor prison in the morning of November 27. The clash started between the two group of inmates and detainees.

According to the police, the prison leader Santosh Pandit had attacked one of the inmate Kaari Shah with a hand pump and the clash started. Both of them were injured in a clash. Other injured were Mohamad Ali Yakat, Sanjaya Bomjan, Dinesh Bhujel, Ramesh Kumar Das, Shyam Dev Paswan and Surendra Prasad Singh.

The injured were sent to Shanti Community Hospital at Jaleshwor for treatment according to jailer Shovendra Thakur.

The two group fought with sticks and iron rods according to guard Shre Narayan Mahato. The clash was taken into control by a group of 50 policemen deployed from District Police Office according to inspector Rabindra Khanal.

The incident is under investigation according to SP Janak Bhattarai of District Police Office of Mahottari.
