Education Affected because of not Re building School damaged by Earthquake

The study in schools of Okhaldhunga district are affected because of not re constructing them after it was damaged by a devastating earthquake last year. It has already been a year of devastation however they were not repaired and students are compelled to study temporarily under tent and zinc plates huts. Students are facing difficulties during rainy season to study under tent because of leaking problem.

Due to extreme cold in winter and hot in summer around hilly region, student faces difficulties in their study according to Principal Lakpa Sherpa of Patle Secondary School. At least 276 fully damaged and 494 partially damaged schools are facing such problem.

In these schools 823 class rooms are completely damaged and they have not been repaired till now according to the District Education Office. Last year normal budget was allocated to repair those buildings however it is not re constructed according to DEO Birendra Jung Thapa.

There are shortages in class rooms for students. After the shortages in class rooms, students are sent to teaching centre with tents according to teachers. Students complained that it is very hard to study under tent.
