Domestic Killing Accused Arrested
Police have arrested Bir Bahadur Sarki, 39, of Belbot in Beni Municipality-1 on September 29 on a charge of murdering his wife Maya Sarki (43).
The locals had lodged a complaint that the husband had killed his wife and buried her in a field near his house.
A team led by Inspector Dhruva Prasad Sharma of the District Police Office, Myagdi, found the body of the deceased at the spot and arrested the accused, Inspector Sharma told INSEC.
He said that the investigation into the incident has been extended by the district court in Myagdi as the initial investigation showed that the accused had tried to hide the body after the murder.
The body was exhumed and taken to Beni Hospital for a post-mortem on September 29 but the cause of death could not be ascertained. The body was sent to Western Regional Hospital, Pokhara for the post-mortem on the same day, said District Attorney Prakash Koirala.
