Doctors Assaulted in Darchula; Accused Arrested
Police have arrested Lokendranath Yogi, 30, of Dilashani Rural Municipality-6 and Narendranath Yogi, 30, of the same place on the charge of assaulting Dr Miyaj Ansari of Gokuleshwor Hospital, Darchula on June 13.
Police have arrested the accused on June 13 alleging them of beating the doctor after the death of the child. According to the accused, the infant died due to negligence in childbirth.
Basanti Nath, 32, of Shailyashikhar Municipality-1 was admitted to Gokuleshwor Hospital on June 12 to give birth. She gave birth by the caesarean process but the infant died shortly after birth.
According to Inspector Narendra Bahadur Chand of the District Police Office, Darchula, a team of Inspector Aruv Bam of the Area Police Office, Gokuleshwor arrested the two involved in the incident after a large number of locals tried to assault the doctors and health workers of the hospital.
Inspector Chand said that additional security personnel have been mobilized from the Area Police Office, Gokuleshwor, Police Station Shikhar and Area Police Office, Latinat for the security of the hospital and health workers.
