Discussion on the Status of Implementation of CEDAW
A Karnali province-level follow-up seminar was organized on the implementation status of the recommendations of the Sixth Periodic Report of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).
The program was organized jointly by Human Rights Treaty Monitoring Coordination Centre (HRTMCC)’s secretariat Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC), Beyond Beijing Committee (BBC) the secretariat of HRTMCC’s CEDAW Committee and Women Association for Marginalized Women (WAM) on October 29, 2021, at Birendranagar, Surkhet. The program was attended by the representatives of different organizations of the district.
In the program, there were discussions held on the sixth report of CEDAW, the recommendations made by the UN CEDAW Committee to Nepal and the status of implementation of the recommendations.
On behalf of the HRTMCC Secretariat, Samjha Shrestha facilitated the program and presented the status of recommendations.
Participants had group discussions on various recommended issues, including the status of implementation, challenges, and the way further.
