Depot remains vacant from the last one month!
Sardibas Depot in Gorkha under the Nepal Food Corporation is out of food from the last one month. The depot was providing rice on a reasonable price to the people of Lho,Bihi, Chekampar, Chumchet and Samagaun including Sardibas however immediately after Dashain, the depots do not have rice stock according to the staff Mangal Bahadur Gurung of the depot.
The crisis started after no rice was supplied in the depot for the last four months in this financial year. The rice stock left was already sold before Dashain and after that no rice was supplied to the depot according to Gurung. Locals had to return back empty handed after not getting rice from the depot.
