Dengue Cases Reported in All 10 Local Levels of Dang: Hospitals Overwhelmed with Patients (Photo Feature)

Dengue infection has spread to all 10 local levels in Dang. Although the monsoon has ended, the number of patients has increased due to the ongoing infection, leading to a surge of patients in hospitals. According to the District Health Office of Dang, from May 2024 to 31 October 2024, there have been 416 reported cases of infection.
In Dang, the highest number of dengue cases is reported in Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City with 171 cases, followed by Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City with 146 cases, Lamahi Municipality with 48 cases, Shantinagar Rural Municipality with 17 cases, Babai Rural Municipality with 16 cases, Rapti Rural Municipality with 12 cases, Dangi Sharan Rural Municipality with 10 cases, Gadhwa Rural Municipality with 6 cases, and Rajpur and Banglachuli Rural Municipalities each with 4 cases, according to Kamal Chand, the dengue focal person at the District Health Office of Dang. He mentioned that the infection has increased during the festival season, leading to a rise in patients at the hospital.
During this period, 133 people have received treatment services at the Rapti Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur. Similarly, over 200 individuals have received services at the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences in Ghorahi.
