Democracy Came For Power, Not For People: Chairman Pyakurel
INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel said that democracy came only for power but not for people as they could not feel it.
Speaking at the discussion program with stakeholders in Inaruwa on August 22, Pyakurel said that people were not able to enjoy democracy as state has failed to fulfil its liability. He added that the rights of people will only limit in papers unless people could not get the rights provided by the constitution.
He said that none of the principle can be enforced during a process of social development. Society is speeding forward in development and state could not guarantee accordingly, he said. He added that civil rights are established only by a common agenda of both government and non-government organisation.
