Locals demand to supply medicine and health workers in Langtang
The locals have demanded to supply health workers and medicine in Langtang. The health post is still not rebuilt which was destroyed in last year’s devastating earthquake. Two health workers were killed in an earthquake and since then there are neither health workers nor health posts in Langtang.
Langtang was highly affected by the last year’s earthquake. Local Gyalbu Tamang said that settling of earthquake victims by identifying a safer area in Kyanjing has been finished however no health posts is established yet. This has violated their right to health.
Chief Dr Bibek Kumar Karna of District Public Health Office said that immediate medicine and health workers can be supplied to Langtang however there is lack of building.
There has been coordination between Karuna Foundation and government to make health building however due to the problem in land management with locals, the process of making health post is extended said Dr Karna.
