Demand for Action Against Accused of Beating Doctor

Doctors have called for action against those responsible for the beating of Dr. Santosh Rai, the 32-year-old Medical Superintendent at the District Hospital, which occurred in his office on October 19. According to eyewitnesses, Khemraj Thapa, a 34-year-old resident of Inaruwa Municipality-6 subjected Dr. Rai to beating on October 19, accusing him of providing incorrect kidney reports for a patient admitted to the District Hospital for treatment.

The victim stated that Khemraj Thapa, 34, brother of the ward Chairperson Suman Thapa from Inaruwa Municipality-6, subjected him to beating in his office under the direction of the Chairperson. The doctors and staff at the District Hospital issued a press statement on October 19, demanding action against the accused. In the press statement, they mentioned that they will suspend all services, except for emergencies, starting from October 21 if action is not taken against the accused of the incident. Additionally, the protesting doctors have accused the police and representatives of political parties in the district of attempting to settle the incident instead of taking action against the accused.
