Death of Detainee in Police Custody
Mahammad Kamodin, a 45-year-old resident of Ratnanagar Municipality-13, has died in the custody of the Ratnanagar Area Police Office. SP Bhawesh Rimal of the District Police Office, Chitwan, reported that Kamodin was killed on October 19. Kamodin was arrested on October 17 for criminal profit charges, and his detention was extended for five days for further investigation. According to the police, Mahammad Kamodin was found lying near the bathroom door of the inmate’s cell at around 4:45 AM.
SP Rimal stated that Kamodin was declared dead by doctors after being taken to Bharatpur Hospital. The body has been kept at the mortuary of Bharatpur Hospital, and a post-mortem of the body is yet to be done.
