Death of a Teacher in School’s Premises; Accused Arrested

Nagendra Bahadur BC, 42, a teacher of Malika Secondary School of Gurans Rural Municipality-8 was killed inside the premises of the school on September 14, 2021.

According to Inspector Indrajit Sunar of the District Police Office, the victim had been residing in Kohalpur for his sons’ education and his wife had gone to Dailekh’s headquarter for some work. Meanwhile, he was killed in the school and his dead body was found on the veranda of the school’s new building. He was killed by slitting the throat.

Inspector Sunar informed that they have arrested Muna Khadka, 26, of Gurans Rural Municipality -8 on September 14 based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s family and also because of the slippers found in the incident spot.

The post-mortem of the deceased was conducted at Dailekh District Hospital on September 14, informed Dr Jeevan Gyawali.

According to the elder brother of the accused, the final rites of the victim will be conducted on September 16.

Bishal Sunar, the District Coordinator of the Human Rights Defenders Network Dailekh, said that the incident was deliberate because BC was interacting with the neighbours till late at night just a day before.

Human Rights activists have demanded an effective investigation into the incident and legal action against the culprits.
