Daughter-in-Law Arrested for Allegedly Killing Mother-in-Law
Police have arrested Bishnumaya Limbu,32, Sangurigarhi village-4 Paksiv, on charges of killing her mother-in-law, Sukmaya Limbu, 63. The arrest took place on June 23, 2023, following an investigation into the unfortunate incident.
According to the District Police Office, Inspector Man Prasad Shrestha, the accused daughter-in-law was apprehended at her residence for further investigation. The arrest came after a complaint was filed, alleging that Bishnumaya had assaulted Sukmaya during a domestic dispute. Inspector Shrestha revealed that there were visible bruises on the deceased’s neck, raising suspicions that her death may have been a result of a murder.
The incident came to light on June 18 when Gajendra, 51, the deceased’s brother, lodged a formal complaint with the police, accusing Bishnumaya of killing his sister. Prompted by the seriousness of the allegations, authorities launched an immediate inquiry into the matter. As part of the investigation, the body of Sukmaya will undergo a postmortem examination at the district hospital on June 24 to determine the exact cause of death.
