Court Slams one year to Bigamous
The district court of Siraha has ordered to sentence 24 years old Shankar Dhungana of Lahan Municipality-15 for one year on charge of polygamy. The court has also ordered to penalize Rs 5,000 from the accused. On the same case, the court however acquitted 20 years old Smita Karki.
A single bench of district court judge Chandra Mani Gyawali has given a verdict regarding the case.
The victim Punam Dhungana, 20 of Lahan Municipality-15 had lodged a complaint against her husband at Area Police Office of Lahan on January 3.
The accused were arrested by the police on a same day. Accused Shankar was released on bail amount of Rs 30,000 and Smita was released on bail amount of Rs 15,000 on January 18.
