Court slams four years and three months to a rape convict
The District Court of Panchthar has ordered to sentence 28 years old Devi alias Devendra Siwal of Phalgunanda Rural Municipality-2 for four years and three months after finding him guilty on raping 49 years old woman.
A single bench of District Court judge Manoj KC had given the verdict regarding the case. The court had also ordered for the compensation of Rs 30,000 from the convict to the victim.
The victim was raped by an accused in 2018, November 2 and complaint against him was lodged at District Police Office on a same day by the victim’s family. He was arrested on a same day and was remanded in custody for investigation. The victim underwent health checkup at District Hospital of Panchthar on November 2.
