Court Sentences Man to 11 Years Imprisonment on Rape Charges
Nawalpur District Court sentenced Mohan Pun, of Nawalparasi East, Madhyabindu Municipality-9, to 11 years imprisonment on the charge of rape of a 16-year-old girl. According to District Court Deputy Santosh Sigdel, Judge Umesh Prasad Luitel’s bench provided the guilty verdict on the charge of rape, on May 3, 2023. The bench imposed a fine of Rs. 150,000 on the guilty as compensation to the victim.
The aggrieved party filed against Pun at the District Police Office Nawalparasi East, on October 15, 2020, accusing him of the rape of the victim on September 3, 2020. Police arrested Pun on October 19, 2020. The court remanded the accused to judicial custody on November 11, 2020.
The health examination of the victim girl was done on October 15, 2020, in District Hospital Nawalpur.
