Court Sentences for 15 Days on Charge of Allegation of Witch
The appellate court of Saptari has ordered to sentence Shibu alias Shiva Narayan Yadav, 52 for 15 days along with Rs 15,000 penalty on charge of beating and misbehaving Bechani Devi Yadav,38 of Boriya VDC-8 alleging her of being witch.
A dual bench of appellate court judges Kumar Chudal and Umesh Singh has given a verdict on the case. Other accused Chanawati Devi Yadav,47, her daughter Renu Kumari,22, ram Kumar Yadav,44 and his wife Tapeshwori Devi Yadav,37 were acquitted by the court.
The victim was abused by them alleging her of being witch in 2014 April 24 and she lodged a complaint at District Police office on April 28.
