Court Orders Six Years and Three Months’ Sentence to the Guilty of Sexual Abuse
The District Court has sentenced a 17-year-old boy to six years and three months jail term for sexually abusing a seven-year-old girl.
A bench of District Court Judge Shyamlal Ghimire sentenced the victim to six years and three months jail sentence and charged him NRs. 150,000 as compensation and ordered him to contribute NRs 10,000 in the victim’s relief fund, said District Court’s Officer Tul Bahadur Gurung.
The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office on February 6, 2021, alleging that the accused had raped her on February 5. Police had arrested the accused from his house on February 6.
Tul Bahadur Gurung further informed that the case was declared as attempted rape since the evidence proved that it was not rape.
The district court had remanded the accused to Juvenile Correction Home, Bhaktapur for trial on February 19, 2021.
The victim was examined at the District Hospital, Bijubar on February 6, 2021.
