Court Orders Six Months’ Imprisonment to the Guilty of Rape
Mohammad Akhtar, 21, of Kalyanpur Municipality-8 has been sentenced to six months imprisonment and fined Rs 40,000 as compensation by the district court on April 12 for raping a 16-year-old girl.
A bench of Judge Prakash Kharel passed the order. The victim had lodged a complaint at the Area Police Office, Mirchaiya on October 11, 2020, accusing the accused of raping the girl on October 10.
The girl was examined at the District Hospital, Siraha on October 10. Akhtar was arrested by the Mirchaiya Area Police Office on November 19.
According to the district court, the accused has been remanded in custody for trial since October 19.
