Court Orders Life Imprisonment to the Guilty of Rape
Govinda BK, 26, and Pritam Matwala, 18, of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan-13 have been sentenced to life imprisonment by the district court of Dang for raping a four-year-old girl.
A bench of District Judge Himlal Belbase gave the verdict on December 8 and also fined NRs 2,800 each which is to be deposited in the victim’s relief fund. Shrestedar Hiranya Prasad Bhandari informed that the victim will be provided NRs. 200,000 as compensation from the fund.
The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, Dang on June 7, 2021, alleging that the accused had gang-raped her.
The health checkup of the victim was conducted at the Rapti Institute of Health Sciences on June 10.
